Dedicated to Preserving History
The Rust Belt is full of captivating locations and interesting buildings with stories to tell. Whether hidden off the beaten path or reconfigured to meet today’s needs, these unique sites offer rich clues about how people used to live. A.D. Pike studios is dedicated to preserving these treasures (often just before they are razed) through photographs to be enjoyed for generations to come. Know of an historic place just begging to be documented? Let us know!

In Vivo Portraits
Looking for something different when it comes to portrait photography? In vivo portraits, taken on location, offer an alternative to traditional studio portraits or studio-like portraits taken in the field. What makes our portraits different? We aim to create integrated images where the subject and the setting are of equal importance, rather than the subject being primary and the setting serving as a mere backdrop. To achieve the desired effect we rarely use flash and instead prioritize the strategic use of natural lighting and carefully curated artificial light. In vivo portraits are perfect for those free-spirits with a strong connection to a particular place and a willingness to engage in the creative process with the photographer. Proud to Honor the Natural World
“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better” – Albert einstein

There is natural beauty all around us waiting to be enjoyed! In a world that often seems to be going too fast for us to notice the quiet details, photography has the unique ability to provide opportunities for us to breathe, even in the middle of a hectic day. Florals and natural landscapes, either as large format wall decor or small desk photos, give us the ability to connect with nature and to be reminded that there is always a nonjudgemental reprieve outside our door just waiting to be explored.
Geranium and rudbeckia plants seasonally available at Blooming Acres.
Here and Now
The commonplace items and occurrences of every day life are the artifacts and memories of tomorrow. A.D. Pike studios is passionate about finding the extraordinary in the ordinary activities of every day life through the photographer’s lens. Wherever activity is taking place, from building sites to carnivals, we aim to freeze time in photographs towards deepening our understanding and appreciation for who we are and what we do as a society. We seek to create heirloom quality photographs to aid in telling our stories to future generations.
